“My role as the Community Led Development worker is to be the voice of the community to the Randwick Park Collective. I am here to communicate your hopes and dreams and work towards achieving them with you. I look forward to working with the community at many levels, be it at the individual, family/whanau or group level. I look forward to getting to know as many people as I can and building great relationships. Together, we will capture your goals and dreams for Randwick into a Community Plan. I hope to be successful in rolling out the goals in order to have a safe, healthy, and flourishing community for us all, of which we a proud to be a part of. It is really important that we do this in a sustainable way while maintaining our autonomy at the same time.”

Randwick Park’s own Community-led Developer Worker
Kia ora and Talofa lava, I am Jessica Gosche and I am the new Community Led Development worker for Randwick Park. Before I tell you about my role and my what I hope to achieve in this awesome community I’d like to tell you a little about myself.

I am of Samoan, German, English and Scottish descent. I was born and raised in Otahuhu by two amazing parents with my brothers. I am now a mother of two beautiful children myself, my son Max is five and my daughter Maia is two. I have lived and worked in Auckland most of my life working in many different fields including retail, hospitality, administration, youth work, and social work. In 2009 I moved to Hamilton as I returned to University as an adult student to study Psychology and Human Development. I completed my Masters degree in Applied Psychology (Community) in 2017.

After graduating I returned to the workforce where I worked at the Waikato DHB in Health Promotion. That was until I discovered the Community Led Development worker role and just could not pass up the opportunity to apply to work with a community who have already achieved so much yet still aspires to achieve even more! My family and I are currently making the move back Auckland (although I have already started this journey in September). I’m really excited to be coming home!

In the time that I have been in Randwick Park I have been blown away at what has been accomplished already – what a dynamic group of community champions! Manu Tukutuku is such an awesome community hub with a mean skate park, and a stunning community centre with beautiful grounds to walk in. I loved the Maker’s Market and the beautiful things that were being made and sold by talented Randwick locals. Everyone I have met so far are so dedicated to the Randwick and the community, they go above and beyond in so many ways and I feel privileged to have been so warmly welcomed into a dynamic community and I really look forward to chasing our hopes and dreams together
